DOMAIN THE LANGUAGE

DEFINITION:

A statement, rule, declaration, or directive that forbids, restricts, prevents, or denies a particular action, behavior, access, practice, or activity.

FUNCTION:

Uses language to establish boundaries by defining what is not permitted, acceptable, authorized, or allowed within a system.

NOTES:

Prohibitions derive their effectiveness from recognized authority, social agreement, institutional enforcement, cultural norms, legal frameworks, or collective acceptance. They may be explicit or implicit, temporary or permanent, broad or specific.
