DEFINITION:
The gradual or deliberate replacement, modification, redefinition, or evolution of words, phrases, labels, and linguistic conventions within a language system.
FUNCTION:
Changes perception and interpretation by altering the vocabulary used to describe people, events, ideas, institutions, and reality itself.
