DEFINITION:

The experienced, perceived, interpreted, inhabited, negotiated, observed, and acted-upon field of existence within which information, meaning, perception, identity, behavior, and consequence occur.

FUNCTION:

Transforms symbolic structures into lived experience by serving as the environment in which information, attention, language, narratives, beliefs, identities, emotions, and power manifest.

Political reality
Virtual reality
Shared reality

NOTES:

Reality may exist independently of perception, but all experience of reality is mediated through attention, language, symbols, narratives, beliefs, identities, emotions, and social systems.

CONTROL TEXT OBSERVATION:

Reality functions as the experiential field upon which all symbolic systems operate. Through reality, information becomes observable, attention becomes selective, language becomes meaningful, narratives become believable, identities become inhabitable, and power becomes consequential. Control Text emerges when symbolic systems shape not merely the interpretation of reality, but the experience of reality itself. The struggle for control is often a struggle over which version of reality becomes dominant, accepted, and enacted.
